With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Robert Campbell, Jr., 68. Charles was born on September 5, 1955, in Columbus, GA to the late Charles Robert, Sr, and Mary Anna Davis Campbell. He peacefully passed away on May 13, 2024, in Thomasville, GA.

Charles dedicated over three decades of his life to Smith Electric Motor Service, where he was known for his dedication and skill. He graduated from Columbus High School, continuing his education at Columbus Technical College. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church. Charles generously lent his time to teaching fifth-grade Sunday school at Dawson Street Baptist Church and First United Methodist Church. He was also an usher and served on the missions and outreach committee at Grace United Methodist Church.

In his spare moments, Charles enjoyed woodcarving, creating intricate animals, figurines, and Santa Clauses. His artistry and craftsmanship will be cherished by those who knew him.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Janet Kirby Campbell, children Courtney Shannon Campbell of Thomasville, Joel Leonard Campbell (Liro) of Los Angeles, Drew Davis Campbell (Karla) of Valdosta, Susan Brook Esra (Billy) of Thomasville, and Andrew Howard Brook of Cape Girardeau, MO, as well as ten cherished grandchildren, Ivan Campbell and Isabelle Campbell of Thomasville, Kaila Campbell of Los Angeles, and Emma Brook of Cape Girardeau, MO, as well as Ari Esra, Tyler Esra, Cissy Esra, Kayden Esra, Dia Esra, and Riley Esra, all of Thomasville. He is also survived by a sister, Susan Campbell Cashwell (Buddy) of LaGrange, Ga. Other survivors include nephews Spencer Cashwell (Emily), Garrett Cashwell (Amanda), and Matt Kirby (Cathy), as well as great-nieces and great-nephews Austin Kirby and Olivia Cashwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Donna Leonard Campbell.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 5-7 pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home's Celebration of Life Chapel. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 11 a.m., also at Allen & Allen Funeral Home's Celebration of Life Chapel, with Reverend Leigh Ann Raynor and Reverend Alfred Carver officiating.
