Services for Charles Franklin Powell of Thomasville will be Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at 11:00AM at Merrillville Baptist Church. Rev. Hugh Rockett will officiate with interment in Big Creek Cemetery. Mr. Powell died October 13, 2002 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born Nov. 22, 1922 in Colquitt Co., GA. he was the son of the late Edward Ray & Navada Mae Powell. On July 3, 1947 in Thomas Co., GA., he married Margaret Morgan Powell who preceded him in death. He was a retired, foreman for Georgia Crate & Basket Co., a Air Force veteran and a member of Merrillville Baptist Church. Survivors include daughter & son-in-law, Peggy & Nick Johnson of Gray, GA., daughter, Betty Elkins of Thomasville, son & daughter-in-law, Charles & Debbie Powell of Thomasville, daughter, Elaine Powell of Thomasville; sisters, Eddie Mae Revells of Atlanta, GA., LaNell Rehberg of Coolidge, GA., Hazel Jordan of Lake City, Fl., Merita Key of Norman Park, GA. and Carolyn Andrews of Byron, Ga.; grandchildren, Alicia Elkins, Beau Elkins, Nathan Johnson, Teresa Unruh, Mandy Powell and Brandon Powell; great grandchild, Jasmine Robinson.
