Services for Charles Lanier Stewart, 82, of Ochlocknee, are at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at Bold Springs United Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles Whatley will officiate and interment is in the family plot at the church cemetery. Mr. Stewart passed away Aug. 28 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home in Pelham. Born February 14, 1933, he was the son of the late Ulysses Coleman Stewart and Eula Owens Stewart. He was a graduate of Ochlocknee High School, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and received a degree in agriculture from the University of Georgia. He taught school in Ware County before returning home to manage the family farm. Survivors include two brothers, John L. Stewart of Swainsboro, Georgia and Cecil Stewart and wife, Faye of Ochlocknee, Georgia; sister, Madeleine Stewart Alred of Moultrie, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many friends at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home and the Camilla Dialysis Center. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Alvin Stewart, Rudene Stewart, James Stewart, Donald Stewart and Norwood Stewart, Kathleen Stewart Sterling, Ruth Stewart Sheffield and Lois Stewart Shiver. Donations may be made to Bold Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 227 Lake Shore Rd., Ochlocknee, Ga. 31773. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
