Charles Ray Voss, 95, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Sunday, April 28th, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Pat Voss and his four daughters, Patti Kilgore(Andy), Kelly Chason(Jim), Sandra Martin, and Betsy Voss. In addition, he is survived by twenty grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Charlie was born in North Carolina as the Youngest of seven siblings to Nathaniel R Voss and Flossie Pearl Lasley. He joined the Air Force in 1946 and completed 5 overseas tours before retiring in 1966 while living in Miami, FL. Charlie worked for the FAA for 10 years before retiring again and moving to Lake County, FL with his family. Living in Lake County, Charlie and Pat were members of First Baptist Church of Leesburg where they served for 30 years. They volunteered on mission trips and in the Community. In 2006 Charlie and Pat moved to Thomasville, GA, and have since lived. He continued his service work as a member of First Baptist Church of Thomasville building wheelchair ramps for those in need and was a member of the Gideon's International. He is remembered as a loving and kind-natured man who always loved to crack a joke. He was a devoted Christian who served his country, family and community proudly.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in Laurel Hill Cemetery with Howard Floyd and Rev. Andy Daughtry officiating.
