Graveside services for Charles Wayne Whitaker, Sr. of Thomasville are at 11:00AM on Friday, November 4, 2005 at Murphy Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Whitaker and the Rev. Dewitt Rehberg will officiate. Mr. Whitaker died October 31, 2005 at the Mitchell County Hospital. Born June 22, 1940 he was the son of the late Jesse Lafayette and Dorothy Mary Sue Conner Whitaker. He was a small engines mechanic. Survivors include sons, Charles Wayne Whitaker, Jr., Josh Randle Whitaker, daughters, Tonya Ann Whitaker, Jasmine Whitaker; dedicated ex-wife, Diane Whitaker; sister, Glenda Wilcox all of Thomasville, sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Cecil Rehberg of Moultrie; grandchildren; Matthew Whitaker, Evan Whitaker, Kyle Whitaker, Rocky Hayes, Anthony Hayes, Amanda Griffin, Caitlin Rogers, Drew Rogers, Will Lawson and J. J. Dean. He was preceded in death by daughter, Tami J. Lawson Rogers; grandchildren, Kelly Lawson, John Johnson, Ethan Whitaker and great grandson, Hunter Griffin.
