Services for Charles Wayne Wood, 59, of Pavo, are at 2 p.m., Monday, September 3, 2007, at Northside Baptist Church. Rev. Merrill Coram and Rev. Morris Nichols will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Wood died August 31 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born August 9, 1948, he was the son of the late Early Byrd and Nellie Dean Wood. On June 26, 1970, in Thomasville, at Westside Baptist Church, he married Diane Roberson Wood, who survives. He was a heat and air technician and a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Cairo. Other survivors include Hope Cedeno of Pavo; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Joseph Monk of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Xenia Cedeno, Charles Cedeno, Kimberly Meche Monk and Joseph Adams Monk, Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Dina Wood of Marietta; sister, Dorothy Mercer of Pavo; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly Ann Wood, in December of 1971; and brother, John L. Wood. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
