Charlie Strickland

Charlie Walter Strickland Sr., 77, of Thomasville, GA, passed away on September 21, 2025. Born on October 24, 1947, in Barwick, GA, Charlie was a cherished member of his community, having resided in Dixie and Thomasville throughout his life. He was the beloved husband of Mary Louise (Bullington) Strickland, with whom he shared 55 wonderful years of marriage.

As a master carpenter for over 50 years, Charlie was known for his exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to his trade. He was known as "Mr. Charlie" and everyone who knew him loved him. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, and most importantly, he treasured every moment spent with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Strickland; children, Mary Elizabeth Page (Steven) and Charlie Walter (Watt) Strickland Jr. (Kathy); grandchildren, Candace Vickers (Aaron), Branden Smith(Brittany), Rachel Sanders (Stacey), Austen Blair (Jennifer), Kendall Fowler (John), Taylor Bracewell, Warner Patton, and Jessica Patton; great-grands, Avery Dukes, Layla Smith, Colton Smith, Mya Vickers, and Levi Vickers followed by 7 special great-grands.

He is preceded in death by his son Robert Eugene Strickland, parents Walter Eugene Strickland and Lenora Elizabeth Strickland, and siblings Peggy Joy Kennedy, Hilda Elizabeth Goodin, and Claude Earl Strickland.

A service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Randy Fields officiating.
