Charlie Betts Wright Jr, age 75, of Talking Rock, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Wildwood Health Care. Charlie was born on June 19, 1949 to Charlie and Mary Wright in Thomasville, Georgia.
Charlie was a member of Jasper United Methodist Church. Charlie was an active member in the Pickens County Rotary Club as well as in Thomasville, Georgia, serving as Sergeant at Arms. Rotary was very important to Charlie and he worked on many projects through the organization. He was involved with the Trouts Charity Golf Tournament every year to benefit the non-profit organizations in Pickens County. Charlie was dedicated to the Parkinson's Foundation Support Club and loved the staff at New Beginnings. The family would like thank the staff of Georgia Mountains Hospice and Wildwood Health Care Center for their kindness and care.
Survivors include: wife, Sandra Wright of Talking Rock; daughters, Delena Wright Suber (Jeff) of Coolidge, GA and daughter, Heather Wright Shamburger of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren, Holly McDonald (Charles), Troy Barker (Raven), and Lauren Lyerly; great grandchildren, Tripp McDonald and Olivia McDonald; sister, Martha Feland. Many other family members also survive.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie B. Wright Sr. and Mary Wright; and sister, Jane Stephens.
A visitation will be held at Allen & Allen Funeral Home on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
