Chester Gambrel, Sr.

Services for Chester Gambrel, Sr., 58, of Ochlocknee, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Allen and Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Gerald Horne will officiate and interment is in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Gambrel passed away July 30 at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. Born, Nov. 5, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Delmar and Mary Gambrel, who survives. On June 19, 1970, in Piqua, Ohio, he married Brenda Gambrel, who survives. Other survivors include children, Lisa Gambrel Davis and husband, Jeremy of Ochlocknee, Chester Gambrel, Jr. of Youngstown, Ohio, Joseph Gambrel of Valdosta and Christopher Engley of Troy, Ohio; grandchildren, Maria Davis, Zachary Davis, Michael Gambrel and Christopher Gambrel; brothers and sisters, Louise Gambrel, Roberta Drinnon, Wilma Hall, Kathy Gonzalez, Del Gambrel, Doris Griffeth, Barbara Pohlschneider, Allen Gambrel, Elizabeth Basal, Lonnie Gambrel and Wanda Jones. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Inc., P.O. Box 1201, Albany, GA. 31702.
