Services for Christine Sherrod Dodson, 71, of Boston are 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Boston Baptist Church, where she attended. The Rev. Tim Phillips will officiate and interment will be in Boston Cemetery. Mrs. Dodson died November 12, 2010 at her residence. Born February 1, 1939 in Thomas County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Sherrod and Evie Willis Sherrod. On November 30, 1993 she married James A. Dodson, Sr, who survives. Other survivors include son, Marcus Lindsey Banister and wife Robin of Myrtle Beach, SC, daughter, Lisa Quay Hicks and husband Dwight of Marietta, GA, daughter, Phyllis Kris Burgess and husband Bob of Locust Grove, GA, son, James A. Dodson, Jr and wife Kerri of Rincon, Ga; grandchildren, Jessica Pater, Josh Pater, Hannah Dodson, Brian Jarrett, Matt Turner , Micah Hicks, Lucas Hicks, Alexis Hicks, Silas Hicks, Eric Burgess, and Jarrett Burgess; great grandson, Ethan Jarrett; sisters, Jewel Griffin Tucker and husband Gene of Boston, Carolyn Vonier and husband Thilman of Pavo, Lucille Carson and husband Bill of Boston, Iris Faye Stewart and husband Cecil of Ochlocknee, and brother, Dwight Sherrod and wife Susan of Boston and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughters, Debra Turner, Belinda Pater and sister Lunette Chastain. Donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave, Thomasville, GA 31792.
