Christopher Wayne Ambrose, 41, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away Friday, December 10, 2021. A celebration of his life will take place Friday, December 17 at 2pm at Victory Fellowship Church in Thomasville, Georgia.
Christopher, son of Chris E. Ambrose and Sherie Newsum Ambrose, was born November 5, 1980 in Cape Canaveral, Florida at Cape Canaveral Hospital. He was a class of 2000 graduate of Thomas County Central High. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force, following in his dad’s footsteps. He served his Country for four years and was honorably discharged in 2004. He attended Southwest Georgia Technical College where he received his certification in PC and Network repair and an Associate’s degree in Applied Science.
Growing up, Christopher was most happy when he was taking things apart and fixing them. He loved creating and inventing new things. He was an avid reader and movie buff, but the original Star Wars and Major Payne would always be his favorites. He was also in Royal Rangers and Boy scouts and hiked all over Germany with his dad during the three years they were stationed there. He was a member of the New Covenant Youth Group under Pastor Chris and Lisa Frith. He attended many Youth Camps, retreats, and functions & Church was a big part of his life. He loved debating subjects, telling stories and jokes, but mostly he just wanted a good laugh. Nothing could get him going like his brothers. When the three of them were together nobody was immune to their laughter. Playing practical jokes was a part of life. This generally was geared towards his sisters or Pastor Chris, but anyone was fair game. He had a servant’s heart and a desire to help others and be of service.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather James Newsum; his paternal grandparents Wayne & Roze Ambrose, and uncle Mitchell (Mitch) Ambrose. He leaves behind his parents Chris & Sherie Ambrose; siblings Stephanie (Michael), Julie (Justin) Sarah (Caleb), Philip (Christina), Melissa and Zachary; maternal grandmother Grace Newsum; uncles and aunts Greg (Mary), Doug (Sue), Sam (Karen) Gary and Karen Ambrose Clendenin; special uncle & aunt Doug & Patti Guilford; cousins (children of Mitch) Aaron, Jordan & Jennifer, (children of Doug) Katie, Jacob, Ethan & Jeremy, (children of Greg) Jenna & Lars, (children of Sam) Josh & Gracie; nieces and nephews (daughters of Stephanie) Caroline & Kimberly, (sons of Julie)Nathan & Gabriel, (daughters of Sarah)Daisy & Savannah, (daughter of Philip) Eliana; plus many extended cousins. He also leaves behind a son and two daughters Kiersten and Chloe.
