Services for Clarice West Slaughter, 81, of Thomasville are 11:00 am, Friday, October 23, 2009 at Trinity Baptist Church, where she was a member. Pastor Ken Burgess and Brother Ray Council will officiate and interment will be at Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Mrs. Slaughter died October 19, 2009 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta. Born August 2, 1928 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late David Bud West and Della Holland West. She was married to Clayton W. Dick Slaughter, who preceded her in death. Survivors include son & daughter-in-law, Danny & Joanne Slaughter of Thomasville, daughter & son-in-law, Jean & Scott Rogers of Dacula, Ga and daughter & son-in-law, Clara Jo & Jackie Thomas of Cairo; grandchildren, Amanda Slaughter, Patrick Slaughter, Alan Slaughter, Ashley Harp, Michelle Hurst and Clayton Bryant; 6 step-grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brother, Lonnie West; brother and sister in law, Earl & Sara West; a sister in law, Nadine West all of Meigs and special cousin Louise Oates of Thomasville. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Clayton W. Clay Slaughter Jr., brothers, John Ben West, Clarence West Sr., Clifford West, Bobby West, and a sister Marie Slade. The family will receive friends Thursday, 6-8pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
