Clarence Warmack funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 11am at First Newark Baptist Church. Final resting place will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Clarence Lloyd "Lloyd" Warmack passed away on April 30, 2021, at the age of 90. He was born in Madison, Fl. on November 20, 1930, to the late Francis Lloyd and Ophelia Louise Warmack. Lloyd served in the military for 22 years, first in the Navy, serving on the Battleship USS Iowa during the Korean War, and then served in US Coast Guard, retiring in 1969 as Chief Warrant Officer (non-commissioned) of the Coast Guard Cutter, Bittersweet. He was an alumnus of University of Georgia System and was a Master electrician and Vocational Technical Instructor of Industrial Electricity for 18 years. Lloyd was a deacon over the years at East Side Baptist, Dawson Street Baptist, Salem Baptist and First Newark Baptist. Over the years, he enjoyed fishing, pecan farming, visiting with his grandchildren and travelling and participating in missionary work in Nicaragua. He was recognized for his service in assisting to obtain permanent homes for the State's foster care system.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Sarah Alwanda Warmack, Brothers Charles Rodney and William Gene Warmack, grandson James Lloyd Warmack and step-daughter Dana Lynn Miller.
Lloyd leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Helena Shipley Warmack; sons Robert Tracy Warmack (Karen Dewell), Alan Lloyd Warmack (Debra Ann) and Barry Shawn Warmack (Judy Young); step-children Donna Marie Miller (Philip Wire), Scott Alan Miller (Lisa Logan), Greg Andrew Miller (Lynne Cavett) and Susan Rae Miller (Loren C. Tewes); grandchildren Joshua Robert Warmack, Megan Nicole Warmack, Sarah Warmack McKenzie (Matthew McKenzie) and Jared Charles Warmack; step-grandchildren Lauren Miller, Daniel Miller, Jordan Miller, Ciara Logan, Hunter Logan, Matthew Ferguson, Anne Stark, Adam Rothenberger, Kyle Steckler, Steven Steckler, Ryan Tewes, Cassidy Tewes and Gracelyn Miller; and great-grandchildren Winnifred Adelaide Warmack, Kieran Emil Warmack and Connor James Warmack. Visitation will be from 10-11am on Tuesday prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lloyd's honor to the American Cancer Society or to the Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society.
