Funeral services for Claude Francis Wilson, 87, from Thomasville will be held at 2PM on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Jimmy Clanton and Rev. Marty Carnes will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Wilson passed away on January 15, 2019 at Southern Pines. Born on March 28, 1931 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Henry Brinson Wilson and Mayo Kersey Wilson. He was married to Jacquelyn Cone Wilson for 57 years. After serving in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War, he turned to farming. In November of 1984, he was voted, “Farmer of the Year.” He loved sports, especially the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Hawks. He is survived by his wife Jacquelyn, son Christopher K. Wilson of Thomasville, granddaughters, Ryan Wilson of Tallahassee, Fl., and Chandler Wilson of Norman, OK. Also surviving are brothers Gerald Wilson and Emory Wilson, sister Vera Smith. He was preceded in death by brothers, Brinson Wilson Jr., Jack Wilson, Charles Wilson, Elmer Wilson, and James Wilson.
