It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cleston Don Hancock. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20th. He was 81. After graduating from Lakeland High School, he enlisted in the Army and served in the Vietnam war as a Munitions Expert. After returning home from serving with honors, he worked at Hancock Tire Company and then Hancock Firearms until retirement. Don loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was always up for a spirited political debate or an action movie and a bowl of popcorn. Just know when you passed him the bowl of popcorn, you weren’t getting it back. Don was preceded in death by his father Cleston Berry Hancock and mother Arlene Vinson Hancock. He is survived by his adoring wife Dotsy, son Jonathan, grandson Erik, brother Randall, sisters Gail and Ann, and many family and friends. We will all miss him dearly. A memorial will be held at Allen & Allen on May 6th at 2 PM.
