Funeral services for Clifton Stokes, 92, of Albany, will be 11:00AM, Friday, February 9, 2018 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel, Thomasville, Georgia. Rev. William (Butch) Knight will officiate and interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Stokes passed away February 4, 2018 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany. Born February 12, 1925 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Henry Lemmie and Foy Daughtery Stokes. On June 3, 1950, he married Agnes Juanita Chastain Stokes in Thomasville, who survives. He served in the Navy during World War II and retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years. Mr. Stokes worked for the City of Albany, Turner Field Golf Course and as an insurance salesman for Liberty National. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Albany and Master Mason Shriner. Mr. Stokes was an avid golfer, loved working in the yard and in his garden. Survivors include daughters, Yvonne S. Minshew and husband David of Valdosta, Linda S. Taylor of Leesburg, Georgia; sons, Randy Stokes and Ted Stokes both of Albany; grandchildren, Misty Hart, Kelly Perrone, Lindsay Huffstuttler, Whitney Paulk, Brittany Stokes, Bridgette Stokes, Lee Taylor, and Kasey Taylor; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Louise Cooper of Thomasville, Betty Hicks of Rock Springs, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Helen Stokes and Phyllis Stokes. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Merle Stokes, Lloyd Stokes, Larry Stokes, and Jimmy Stokes and sister Joyce Mott. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 9, 2018 before the service from 10:00 until 11:00 in the main building at the funeral home. Guests are invited to sign the online register at
