Services for Clinton Thomas Gossett of Cairo are at 3:00PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at First United Methodist Church in Thomasville. The Rev. Franklin Russ and the Rev. Mitch Clements will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Gossett died May 14, 2006 at his residence. Born October 7, 1945 in Fayette, Ga., he was the son of the late Henry and Alverna McDearce Gossett. On September 10, 1970 in Decatur, Ga., he married Frances V. Mulligan Gossett who survives. Other survivors include sons, Clinton DeWayne Gossett, Christopher Shane Gossett both of Cairo, Donald Clayton Gossett of Thomasville, daughter, Alverna Simmons of Camella;14 grandchildren; sister, Joyce Arrington of Commerce, GA., brother, Neal Gossett of Gainesville, GA.; sisters, Diane Ray of Burnwsick, GA., Joan Roger, Annette Peavy both of Albany, GA., Dot Sadler of Pelham, Barbara Hinson of Jackson, GA., brother, Gene Gossett of Atlanta, GA., sister, Patsy Braswell of Dexter, GA. and brother, Richard Gossett of Dexter, GA. He was preceded in death by a son, Bill Gossett, brother, Bobby Gossett, sisters, Margaret Gilliard, Helen Fritz and Wanda Keyes. The family will receive friends at 176 Heald Road, Thomasville, GA.
