Services for Clyde Melvin Hudson, Sr., 71, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Allen and Allen Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Rev. David Roberson, Jay Strickland and Jeff Vickers will officiate. Mr. Hudson passed away April 15 at his residence. Born, Nov. 1, 1938, in Drake, S.C., he was the son of the late Stonewall Jackson and Shirley Ventris Hudson. On March 30, 1985, in Thomasville, he married Margie Lorine Huckeba Hudson of Thomasville, Ga. who survives. Mr. Hudson was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War. He was a retired electrician from A & J Electric and was of the Methodist faith. Other survivors include children, Linda Carol Hudson of McColl, S.C., Butch Hudson of Thomasville, Ga., Emily Ann Hudson of Bennettsville, S.C. and Clyde Melvin Hudson, Jr. of Thomasville, Ga., Cindy Fletcher of Thomasville, Ga., Marcia Kellet of Rome, Ga., Henry Paul Price, Jr. of Clarksville, Tenn. and Karen Frazier of Thomasville, Ga.; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Flora Bryant and Shirley Ann Bryant and husband Jimmy all of Society Hill, S.C. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Hudson; brothers, Stonewall Jackson Hudson III and Julian Hudson; daughter-in-law, Mitzi Lynn Hudson. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
