Charles Coleman “Coley” Voyles, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and devoted worship leader, passed away at his home on May 23, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on March 6, 1961, in Thomasville, Georgia, Coley lived a life rooted in faith, family, and a deep love for music. He was the son of the late Clyde Fletcher Voyles and Ethelle Roma Palmer Voyles.
Coley devoted much of his life to serving the Lord and caring for those he loved. On May 4, 2025, he was ordained into ministry, an accomplishment he considered one of the greatest blessings and highlights of his life. Having faithfully served in church ministry for many years, he most recently led worship at First Baptist Church in Donalsonville. Music was one of Coley’s greatest passions, and he found immense joy in sharing it with both his church family and loved ones. He especially cherished the senior adults at church, affectionately known as the Merry Makers.
In addition to his ministry, Coley dedicated many years to his career, spending 25 years with Nabisco and Kraft Foods before later working 8 years with Lewis & Raulerson Petroleum. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to excellence in everything he did.
Outside of work and ministry, Coley loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. Above all else, however, his greatest joy came from his faith and his family, who were the foundation of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian Darley Voyles of Bainbridge; his children, Jennifer Ray (Chandler) of Bainbridge and Blake Voyles (McKayla D’Ingianni) of Jackson,GA; his cherished grandson, Carter Ray; his brothers, Palmer Voyles and Fred Voyles (Maryann); his sister-in-law, Sylvia Voyles (Dwight); numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved four-legged companion, Bull.
Coley was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dwight Voyles, as well as his nephew Scott Voyles and niece Joy Voyles.
A service celebrating Coley’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, with Reverend Michael Wingertsahn and Reverend Chris Humphries officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00–11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Mike Griffin and Reverend Steve Brooks officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Blake Voyles, Chandler Ray, Tony Voyles, Kyle Voyles, Rick Voyles, Brandon Roberson, Noah Voyles, Luke Roberson, and Chris Rzewnicki. Honorary pallbearers will be Palmer Voyles, Fred Voyles, Tommy Bell, Keith Dekle, Danny Dukes, David Ferrell, Todd Grilliot, Marvin Johns, and Robby Pitts.
During this time of mourning, the family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. The kindness shown is a reflection of the lasting impact Coley had on so many lives. Though he will be greatly missed, his faith, love, and legacy will never be forgotten.
