Corbett Max Lawler, 91 of Thomasville, passed away on June 5, 2025 at Camellia Gardens surrounded by his family. He was born on March 20, 1934, in Cairo to the late Corbett and Helen Lawler. He lived a full and enriching life, marked by a deep devotion to his family, community, and faith. Corbett was the beloved husband of Onita Lawler, with whom he shared 47 years of joy and companionship.
Corbett was a proud alumnus of the Ochlocknee schools. He dedicated many years of his life to his work,embarking on a long career at Warner's, where he retired after 43 years of service and then worked part time at Jimmy's Sew & Vac. Throughout his life, Corbett was actively involved in his community and was a treasured member of Barnett's Creek Baptist Church, which served as a cornerstone for his faith and values.
Outside of his professional and spiritual commitments, Corbett had a passion for fishing, often relishing time spent by the water, surrounded by nature and serenity. His warm spirit and nurturing heart made him a loving husband, father, and grandfather, creating countless cherished memories for his family over the years.
Survivors include his wife, Onita Lawler of Thomasville; children William Gary Spikes (Tammy) of Thomasville, Beverly Burnum (Dewey) of Pelham, Connie Plymel (Dennis) of Thomasville, Larry Lawler of Thomasville, and daughter-in-law, Mary Lawler of Thomasville followed by a host of grands, greatgrands, and great-greatgrands.
He is preceded in death by his son Corbett Steve Lawler, daughter Carol Spikes, Brother Carey Lawler, and grandchildren Tiffany Miranda Spikes and Chad Plymel.
A service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 11am at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10-11am prior to the service. Interment will follow at Barnett's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Patrick Cooper, Matthew Cooper, Corbett Lawler, Chris Reneau, Carl Plymel, and Duran Sadler.
