Cornell Bannister

Services for Cornell Bannister of Thomasville are at 3:00PM on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at Big Creek Baptist Church where she was a member. Rev. Steve Brooks will officiate and interment will be at Big Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Bannister died December 29, 2003 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born May 30, 1925 in Thomas County, GA., she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Sylvia Carlton Howell. On April 9, 1944 in Coolidge, GA. she married Virgle Lamar Bannister who preceded her in death. She retired from the ASCS office with over 30 years of service. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Ione and Ernie Hammontree and daughter, Melba Bannister; sister, Lauree Gay all of Thomasville; brother-in-law, Howard Brooks of Coolidge and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Willadean Brooks, preceded her in death. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9PM on Tuesday. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
