Corporal Malcolm E. Hurst

Funeral service for Corporal Malcolm E. Hurst, 53, of Thomasville will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Gatlin Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Mitch Connor will officiate and interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hurst passed away on April 13, 2015, after suffering from a long illness. Born February 9, 1962 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Homer and Eloise Bryant Hurst. He was married to Linda Gay Hurst, who survives. Mr. Hurst served in law enforcement for thirty years receiving numerous awards and commendations. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge. Other survivors include daughters Marie Knight of Houston, TX, Michelle Chason of Pelham, Amanda Sadler of Fitzgerald; sons James Cooper of Thomasville and John Cooper of Pelham; and a sister Nettie Kennedy and husband Allyn of Thomasville and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donations may be made to Prayers for Malcolm at SunTrust Bank. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the funeral home.
