Dr. Craig Edwin Wolff, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, physician, and pillar of the Thomasville community, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, after two years battling brain cancer. He was 63 years old. A worship service to celebrate Dr. Wolff’s life will be held at First Presbyterian Church Thomasville on Saturday, April 29 at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow.

Born on September 27, 1959, in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Edwyn Elbert Wolff and Joyce Marie Wolff, Dr. Wolff spent his childhood between West Virginia and California. He graduated from Parkersburg High School and went on to earn his B.A. in Biology from Wake Forest University in 1981, where he was a member of the Concert Choir and graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

He earned his Doctor of Medicine from West Virginia University in 1985, where he met his wife, Tammie Ashley. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Jacksonville Health Education Program in 1988. Dr. and Mrs. Wolff were married on October 17, 1987, in Charleston, West Virginia. He completed a Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine Fellowship at UCLA Harbor in 1991.

After completing his medical training, Dr. and Mrs. Wolff moved to Thomasville, Georgia. Here, they raised three children: Katherine Ashley, David Edwyn, and Caroline Marie. He joined the McIntosh Clinic and Archbold Memorial Hospital and served the community for over three decades as a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Wolff was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, a former Chair of the World Mission Conference, and a passionate Bible study leader. He enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly in the great outdoors. He is survived by his wife of three decades, Tammie Ashley Wolff, his two sisters, Sheila Joy Curtis and Cheryl Joyce Patterson, his three children: Katherine Ashley Wolff (Eric) of Washington, DC, David Edwyn Wolff (Rebecca) of Augusta, Georgia, and Caroline Marie Wolff of Thomasville, and his exchange daughter, Franziska von Uslar of Munich, Germany.

The family wishes to thank the special people who surrounded him these past months, most especially Dr. Josh Simmons, Nick Andrews, Billie Jo Beverly, Jennifer Brown, Kacy Bryant, Fay McCoy, Sandy Johnson, Betty Owens, and Celeste Stephens.

Dr. Craig Edwin Wolff will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched, both personally and professionally. His commitment to excellence and compassion for his patients and loved ones will always be remembered.
