Curtis Martin Reichert passed away at his home surrounded by his family on March 7, 2026. Curtis was born on July 20, 1938 to the parents of Ernest Martin Reichert and Maggie Jones Reichert. Curtis was a graduate of Thomasville High School class of 1957 and was voted "Cutest" of the Senior Superlatives. Curtis played halfback on the Thomasville Bulldogs Football team. He loved them Dogs! Curtis served three years in the United States Army as a parachute packer and made twenty eight successful jumps. He worked at Sunnyland Packing Co. nineteen years as a salesman. After Sunnyland closed, he went to work at W.J. Powell as a salesman and buyer where he worked for nineteen years before he retired. After retirement, he worked four or five part time jobs. On October 11, 1964, he married Cecelia Buckner at Friendship Baptist Church in Metcalfe, Ga. and was marred for 61 years. They were the parents of three sons: Kevin Ernest Reichert, Kalin Martin Reichert and Kelly Patrick Reichert. They had one grandson Carson Mychal Reichert who is in the Marines and was just promoted to Corporal. Curtis and Cecelia were members of the First Baptist Church in Thomasville and served on the Baptism Committee for 25 years. They were always delighted when someone turned their life over to Jesus Christ and became a Christian. Survivors are Cecelia; son Kelly Patrick Reichert (Stacy); grandson Carson Mychal Reichert; step grandchildren Brooke Wilds (Cleveland), Brett Dobbins (Sarah); step great grandchildren Walker Dobbins, Everleigh Dobbins, Remingtonn Wilds; siblings Linda R. Murphy and E. Kirby Reichert (Laine); numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sons that were the love of their lives, Kevin Ernest Reichert and Kalin Martin Reichert; parents Ernest and Maggie Reichert; sister Helen Dale Bordelon.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday March 11, 2026 in the Thomasville First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Paul Ballard officiating. Visitation will be held before the service on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00AM. His family will have a private burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
