Cynthia Virginia Herndon

Services for Cynthia Virginia Marchant Herndon of Thomasville are at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 6, 2005 at Antioch Baptist Church. The Rev. Matt Stacy will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Herndon died August 2, 2005at her residence. Born October 15, 1923 in Thomasville she was the daughter of the late Riley J. and Flora Lamb Marchant. On November 6, 1946 she married Kenneth H. Herndon who was retired from the United State Navy, and would have celebrated their 59 wedding anniversary this year. Mrs. Herndon graduated from Thomasville High School in 1942 and enjoyed their many class reunions, and was an avid traveler with her husband. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a retired private secretary with the Federal Civil Service. Survivors include her husband Kenneth H. Herndon; niece, Barbara Owens of Pensacola, FL and sister Mary Frances Bozeman of Pavo, GA. She was preceded in death by sisters Florene Johnson, Audrey Marchant, Lois Harrell and brother R.J.
