A memorial service for Cynthia Susan Harvell Strait, 60 of Thomasville will be held at 6 pm, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Metcalfe Methodist Church with a reception following in the church fellowship hall. In accordance with Cindy's wishes, her body will be cremated. Cindy passed away June 12, 2012 at Archbold Hospital. Born October 18, 1951 in Orlando, Fl. Cindy is survived by her husband Mahlon Strait and daughter Dani Strait. Cindy is the daughter of Virginia Young Harvell of Orlando, Fl and the late William James Harvell. Cindy worked as a respiratory therapist at Archbold Hospital for 20 years, Prior to that she worked at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta. Cindy attended Berry College in Rome after graduating from Central High School. Cindy loved spending time with her family, especially her daughter Dani. Cindy enjoyed making cards, reading and shopping. Other survivors include her 5 sisters, Ramona Aune and husband George of Martinez, Ga, Cathy Samuelson of Orlando, Fl, Kelly Rosenfeld and husband Philip of Kissimmee, Fl, Jamie King and husband Larry of Thomasville, Patricia Kossol and husband Jim of Orlando, Fl; aunts, Helen Stokes of Thomasville, Eugenia Patrick of Webster, Fl; uncle, John F. Harvell of Metcalfe; mother-in-law, Mary Strait of Columbus, Ms; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and best friend Nellie Kindred Miller. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Metcalfe Methodist Church Building Fund, 1105 N. Louis St, Metcalfe, Ga 31792, in Cindy's memory. Guests may sign the online register at www.allenfh.com
