Graveside services for Daisy Ruth Taylor, 74, of Quitman, formally of Thomasville, will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Laurel Hill Cemetery on 11th Street. Mrs. Taylor passed away on May 7, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Born March 2, 1941 in Camilla, GA, she was the daughter of the late James Prett and Sadie Mae Hathcock Scott. Mrs. Taylor was part of the first graduating class of Central High School in Thomasville. She continued her education by going to Business School in Americus, GA. Later, she went to work for Commercial Bank in Thomasville, where she worked for 47 years. She lived in Thomasville all her married life. She was married to Robert Arthur Taylor, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2008. Survivors include her brothers James William Scott of Gulf Port, FL, Franklin Lamar Scott and wife Jane of Quitman; sisters Mary Elizabeth McClendon of Birmingham, AL and Hettie Louise Feeley of Warner Robins, GA and she was loved by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother Little Buddy; sister–in-law Lila Scott; brothers-in-law Ernest McClendon and Dave Feeley.
