In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by brothers Jack Herring and Franklin Miles Herring Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Kaye Herring Hahn and husband Doug, two grandchildren, Avery Elizabeth Baggett and David Alan Baggett; brother-in-law Charlie Haines Stewart, Jr. and wife Pam; nieces and nephews Jerreann Herring Oliver and husband Don, Josh Herring and wife Faye, Ronny Herring and wife Sharon, Jackie Herring Higgins and husband John, Lynette Herring Fulghum and husband Paul; great nieces and nephews and multiple friends. He enjoyed growing and showing camellias, and was a member of the American Camellia Society, the Thomasville Rose Society, and previously, the Men's Garden Club. He enjoyed singing in the church choir throughout his adult life, first at Ochlocknee Methodist and, until a month ago, the Thomasville First Methodist Chancel and Keenager choirs. He was a member of the Golden Kiwanis. He served Christ and his neighbors through his church and his service as volunteer bookkeeper at the Thomas County Food Bank.
