Services for David George Hutchings, 87, of Thomasville, GA, are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at the First Baptist Church of Thomasville with interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner and Rev. Dan Spencer will officiate. Born September 19, 1915 in Sandersville, GA, Mr. Hutchings was the son of the late James Key and Pauline Shepherd Hutchings. He is preceeded in death by his wife, the late Wilandra Carr Hutchings. Mr. Hutchings was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church and the Fisherman's Sunday school class. He was an officer and director of the Commerical Bank, where he worked for 46 years. Mr. Hutchings was also a director of Glen Arven Country Club, the Thomasville Kiwanis Club, an avid golfer and sportsman. He attended Emory at Valdosta and graduated from the Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers University. Mr. Hutchings is survived by his sister, Mrs. Julian Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; his children, Susan and Randy Jobson, David and Janet Hutchings; grandchildren, Emmett Mitchell IV, Mary Lane Mitchell, Melissa Farrell, Randy Jobson, Whitney Jobson, David Hutchings III, and Laura Cottle; great grandchildren, Lee Driggers, Joseph Farrell, and Hannah Grace Hutchings. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and honorary pallbearers are the Fisherman's Sunday school class. The family will receive friends at 427 Myrtle Dr. from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2003. Memorials may be made to the Thomas County Public Library, 201 N.
