David Ralston Highsmith, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on November 27, 2023, at the age of 62 at his residence. Born on October 12, 1961, in Thomasville, GA, David's love for the outdoors was evident from an early age.
David's passion for quail hunting and skill as a dog trainer was unmatched. He had a heart as big as the great outdoors he loved, and his expertise earned him the title of a master quail hunter. With unwavering dedication and a deep connection to nature, he found solace and joy in the fields and forests, creating countless precious memories.
Survivors include his wife Angelia Highsmith of Boston, his daughters, Missy King of Boston, and Tina Ramsey of Thomasville. Additionally, his children, Eva Bryant of Warner Robins, Ga., Jesse Smith of Thomasville, Ga, Tony Jones of Angelica, NY, and Morgan Roze of Baltimore, Md.
David was a cherished grandfather to Bailey Borden, Karah Borden, Michaela King, Nolan King, Owen King, Kennedy Laramore, Jaron Miller, Memphis Ramsey, Ella Ramsey, Bentley Smith, Berkleigh Smith, Kai Jones, and Ethel Jones. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Braleigh Borden and Henleigh Borden. Their lives were forever enriched by his love, wisdom, and the unforgettable moments they shared together.
David will be remembered by his brothers, Gary Highsmith of Boston and Danny Highsmith of Grey, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralston Highsmith and Sarah Martin Highsmith, as well as his daughter, April Highsmith, and sister, Joyce Maddox.
Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects and celebrate David's life during the visitation at the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel on Friday December 1, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm. His funeral service will be held at Crossroads Fellowship Baptist Church on Saturday December 2, 2023, at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Barwick, Ga.
David Highsmith's legacy as a master quail hunter, loving family man, and outdoors enthusiast will continue to inspire and bring joy to those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
