David Raymond Leach Sr., a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away at home on November 4, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on September 9, 1946, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late George Edward Leach and Beverly Jane Barnwell Leach, where he spent the first 40 years of his life before moving to Thomasville, Georgia, in 1994.
David attended Englewood High School in Jacksonville and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he dedicated himself to his passion for landscaping, owning and operating his own company, TLC Landscape & Maintenance in Thomasville, for over 20 years. His love for roses allowed him to transform many areas in Thomasville, including the Thomasville Rose Garden, which he helped design and install.
David was an avid outdoorsman who loved boating and skiing on the St. John's River during his time in Jacksonville. He enjoyed spending countless hours working in his yard and had a special fondness for skeet shooting. A devoted sports fan, David cheered for the Florida Gators and found joy in following football and golf, sharing his enthusiasm with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Lynn Wright Leach; children David Raymond Leach, Jr. (Terri) of Jacksonville, Christopher David Leach (April) of Jacksonville, and Christina Leach Reneau (Heath) of Thomasville; grandchildren Danielle Leach of Jacksonville, Oliver Leach of Jacksonville, Alaina Reneau of Thomasville, and Garrett Reneau of Thomasville; siblings Laura Peiper (Larry) of Bainbridge, Georgette Litzie (Mike) of Jacksonville, and Debbie Knopf (Ronnie) of Jacksonville and his canine companion Bella followed by many nieces and nephews.
