Services for David Earl Phillips, 63 of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dennis Norman and Rev. Kevin Odom will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Phillips passed away April 15 at his residence. Born June 23, 1950 in Donalsonville, Ga, he was the son of the late Cecil Earl Phillips and Louetta Perry Benton. He was married to Grace Carter Phillips who survives. Mr. Phillips was retired from Cone machinery and loved being outside in the yard, industrial painting, playing with his dog “Vinny”, fishing and making things with his hands. Other survivors include his son, David Glenn Phillips and daughter, Amy Phillips Harnevious and husband Chris all of Thomasville; grandchildren, Calida Smith, Kyle Phillips, Kayla Harnevious, Jordan Phillips, Katelyn Swett and Zach Harnevious; great-grandchildren, Avigail Wainright and Weslyn Watts; brothers and sisters, Lewis Poitevint and wife Glenda, Glenda Sue Stringer and husband Will, Eddie Joe Phillips and wife Benita all of Thomasville, Cherie Smithwick and husband Luke (Buddy) of Pelham, Shirley Law and husband Terry of Ozark, Al and Janice Becknell and husband Brad of Ocoee, Fl. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by Ollie Mae McCarson. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home chapel.
