Memorial service for Deena Shelley Whitehead Jones, 57 of Dixie will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Pastor Randy Blow will officiate. Mrs. Jones passed away October 10, 2023 at Archbold Hospital. Born March 27, 1966 in Long Beach, CA., she was the daughter of the late Aldon & Mildred Daughtry Whitehead.
Deena was a devoted wife and mother. She and Jeff were married for 37 years and together a total of 41 years. Together they created a beautiful life and had 2 beautiful children together, Hayden and Kaitlyn.
Deena was a Paramedic for 25 years. She had a passion for taking care of others but her main focus in life was her family. Deena loved big and had a heart of gold. She poured her heart into taking care of her husband and her children and always put their needs above her own. Deena later became better known as "BoBo" when she took on the new role as a grandmother. She loved nothing more than spending time with her 3 grandchildren and if you knew her, she was always talking about them, they were who she lived for. Deena loved nothing more than having her family together as one, her home was a sanctuary of love and laughter, where cherished memories were created.
Deena also had a passion for gardening and had quite the green thumb. You could always find her outside with her main side kick, Webster, creating a beautiful flower bed. She had an immense love for flowers but sunflowers were always her favorite. If Deena wasn't outside, you could find her inside cooking one of the best meals you ever ate, it's like she had a magical finger.
Her family will remember her for her over pouring of love, her gentle touch, her adventurous personality, her love for flowers and digging in the dirt, her love for the beach, her love for music, her love for pasta, and the love she poured into her family daily.
She is survived by her husband Jeff Jones of Dixie; children Hayden Dean Jones (Lauren) of Thomasville and Kaitlyn Palmer and husband Ben of Boston; grandchildren, Ryder Jones, Lyrie Jones, Shelby Kate Palmer; brother Danny Whitehead of Pelham and sister Debra Lara of Thomasville; mother-in-law Betty Jones; brother-in-law Patrick Jones and best friends Monika Malloy, Pam Hundley and Charles Blankenship.
The family will greet friends after the service.
