Delores Botsko Whetsell

Ms. Delores Botsko Whetsell, 85, of Miami, FL, died peacefully March 3, 2012, at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home in Thomasville, GA. Delores was born on January 27, 1927, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Joseph and Mary Botsko. She grew up in Ambridge, PA, and graduated from Ambridge Area High School in 1944. She attended nursing school in Pittsburgh and worked as a nurse in several Pittsburgh area hospitals before moving to Florida in 1951. She was a stay-at-home Mom caring for her three children through the rest of the 50's. She returned to work as an RN in the early 60's and worked at several Miami area hospitals. Later she worked as a Public Health Nurse for the Florida Department of Family & Children services. She attended Florida International University in the early 70's where she received a BSN. She was devoted to her family, patients and foster children. Delores is survived by her children: George W. Whetsell III Dianna, Morris J. Whetsell Patricia, Jane E. Milligan Fritz Poux, adopted son Jonathan P. Whetsell; and her brothers: Joseph Botsko Betty, George Botsko Margaret and James Botsko Beverly. She had 10 grandchildren and other loving relatives and friends. The Family requests that memorials be made to St. Augustine's Parish, 211 North Pinetree Boulevard, Thomasville, GA 31792.
