Dian Swinney Fiveash, age 92, of Thomasville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 19,
2026, in Thomasville. She was born on August 20, 1933, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Joseph Henry
Swinney and Jewel Swinney Barnwell.
Dian was a woman of many talents and a life filled with love, laughter, and service to others.
She was a devoted member of Thomasville First United Methodist Church for many years and
was also an active member of the Garden Club. Dian had a deep love for cooking and baking
and was widely known for her incredible talent in the kitchen. She owned and operated the
Strawbridge House Restaurant and also worked at Glen Arven Country Club and Horseshoe
Plantation. In addition, she catered many weddings throughout the years and was especially
known for creating some of the most beautiful and delicious wedding cakes.
Beyond her professional talents, Dian found joy in gardening, sewing, fishing, playing cards,
traveling, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her warm spirit, generous heart, and
loud, infectious laugh made her unforgettable to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pat Fiveash.
Dian is survived by her children: Stanley Lewis Fiveash (Deborah), Donald Pat Fiveash (Lisa),
and Jeffery Steven Fiveash (Tracie). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren:
Ashley Fiveash Beaty (Brian), Stacy Fiveash Solberger (Ryan), Kyle Fiveash (Courtney), Ivey
Fiveash Chastain (Jared), and Chandler Fiveash.
She was a proud great-grandmother to Caden Fiveash, Landon Beaty, Maddy Beaty, Konner
Fiveash, Kaser Fiveash, Ward Hayes, William Solberger, Walker Hayes, Adeline Chastain,
Lennon Chastain, and Hanson Chastain.
She is also survived by her siblings, Ray Swinney(Connie), and Teena Strickland, along with
many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Allen & Allen Funeral Home, with a funeral
service to follow at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to
Georgia Hospice Care.
Dian’s legacy of love, hospitality, and joy will live on through the many lives she touched. She
will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
