Diana Adkins

October 1, 1948 — February 1, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diana Sardegna Adkins, age 74, on Wednesday February 1, 2023 at Camellia Gardens in Thomasville, GA. Diana was born on October 1, 1948 to Lawrence and Phyllis Sardegna in Tampa, Florida. She lived in and around the Tampa area for most of her life and relocated to Thomasville, GA in 2006. Diana worked various different jobs throughout her adult life, some of which included a paralegal, data processing, and a principal's assistant and bilingual para-pro with The Hillsborough County School District and lastly, a bilingual para-pro with The Thomasville City School District, where she retired from in 2015.

After retirement, Diana spent a lot of her time gardening and cooking. Not only did she enjoy doing it, but she was phenomenal at doing it. Some of her family favorite dishes include Cuban lemon meringue pie, Pignolata, Ropa Vieja, Picadillo, Scacciata pizza, Crab Chilau, Lasagna & Catalina Pot Roast. She absolutely loved Café Con Leche and often indulged in it with Cuban bread/butter OR Cheerios in her Café Con Leche. Diana really loved caring for her animals. She had a fond heart for them and owned dogs, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and even pigs! She loved cows, but never got the opportunity to own one. Diana also enjoyed vacationing at the beach with her family and friends. She was a kind and compassionate woman with an infectious laugh and so many of her friends became lifelong family to Diana and her family.

Survivors left to treasure Diana's precious memories include her beloved husband of 44 years, Walter Adkins; two sons, Ronnie Williams (Denise) and Daren Masada; three daughters, Tammie Weirich (Billy), Hollie Adkins, and Jessica Adkins. Diana also thoroughly enjoyed being a Nana and was so very proud of each of her nine grandchildren; Johnathan Enriquez, Victoria Wooldridge, Jonathan Wooldridge, Nicholas Vassilakos, William Weirich Jr, Hailey Musall, Kristopher Musall, Josiah Williams and Elijah Adkins. She loved fiercely and always supported her family with a passion. Diana will be loved and missed immensely but the family takes comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of Jesus - made anew and that they will be reunited again in heaven. The pain of missing Diana is a beautiful reminder of the joy of loving her... may she forever rest in peace.
