Dollie Mae Morris of Thomasville passed away on March 24, 2024 at the age of 89. Dollie was born on August 12, 1934 in Thomasville to the late John Henry and Leonora Johnson.
Dollie was a member of First Newark Baptist Church. She loved God and enjoyed listening to gospel music. She enjoyed going fishing and working in her yard. Dollie was known for making excellent cakes and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She loved her family dearly and loved her home. Dolly loved helping others with anything she could.
She is survived by her son Jerry Morris (Verna) of Thomasville; her daughter Deborah Barden of Thomasville; her granddaughter whom she devoted her life to and considered a daughter, Tania Duncan Royal (Travis) of Thomasville; her sisters Sarah Barrett of Thomasville, Joyce Kelly of Thomasville, and sisters-in-law Elaine Tillery and Maggie Wood; her grandchildren Kevin Morris, Stacy Morris, Brandy Weldon, and Timothy Duncan followed by 11 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Burnice Morris and her sister Betty Hurst.
There will be a service to celebrate the life of Dollie Morris held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 11 in the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel with Reverend Steve Brooks officiating. Her family will greet friends in the chapel prior to the service from 10:30-11 am.
Donations may be made to the youth ministry at First Newark Baptist Church.
