Graveside services for Donald Banister, 80 of Coolidge will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Big Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Mike Keown and Reverend Adam Gilligan will officiate. Mr. Banister passed away August 6 at Archbold Hospital. Born January 17, 1937 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Haywood Otto Banister and Vivian Hardy Banister. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and owned and farmed Banister Brothers Farm. He was married to Bernice Wynette Houk Banister, who survives. He attended Coolidge Baptist Church and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Other survivors include his daughters, Leah Banister Busbee and husband Alfred of Marietta and Donna Banister Sellars and husband Chris of Thomasville; step-daughter, Cindy Herndon and husband Rick of Atlanta; grandchildren, Matthew & Mary Busbee, Jennifer & John Mark Henderson, Christina Sellars and Austin Sellars; great-grandchildren, Katherine and Sarah; brothers, Rodney Banister and Keith Banister, both of Coolidge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coolidge Baptist Church, 2070 S. Pine St, Coolidge, Ga 31738. The family will greet friends after the service.
