Graveside services for Donald Cleveland Johnson, 73 of Metcalfe are 2:00pm, Sunday, April 15th, 2012. The service will be officiated by Rev. Molly Danner and Rev. Marshall Singletary at Horne Cemetery. Mr. Johnson passed away April 12th, 2012 in Metcalfe, Ga. Mr. Johnson was born in Thomasville, GA on September 13, 1938. He was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Johnson, Jr. and Sara Julia Chastain Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Metcalfe United Methodist Church and was on the Board of Directors of the Pelham Jamboree. He was also retired from the Army Reserves and Southwestern State Hospital. Mr. Johnson is survived by his loving wife Alma Boutwell Johnson; sons Donald Lee Johnson of Vada, Ga. and Richard Lewis of Thomasville, Ga.; daughters Rachelle Straucener of Cairo, Ga. and Tammy Freeman of Barwick, Ga; brother Thomas B. Johnson and sister Rebecca Rouse both of Metcalfe, Ga., eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his brother Joseph David Johnson. In lieu of flowers to Metcalfe Community Children's Playground, 1057 Manning St. Metcalfe, Ga. 31792, Attn. Wentie Kindred.
