Donald Lanis Hall, Sr.

Services for Donald Lanis Hall Sr., 79, of Meigs, Ga will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Midway Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dennis Norman and Reverend Stan Bowen officiating. An Interment will be held at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Hall was born on October 1, 1943, to the late Ernest W. Hall and Ruby Lewis Hall. He passed away on November 27, 2022. On July 16, 1967, he married Marie NeSmith Hall of Ochlocknee, Ga. Mr. Hall graduated from Thomas County Central High School in 1961 and in 1965 he graduated from the University of Georgia. He served in the Alabama Air National Guard Reserved (Dothan, AL) for 26 years. He was a formal boy scout master, retired from Waverly Mineral (25 years), and retired from USDA (12 years). Mr. Hall was a member of Midway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and choir member. He was the supervisor of Thomas County Soil and Water for many years. He was also the 2019 Soil and Conservationist of the year. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of 55 years Marie NeSmith Hall of Meigs, and son Donald Lanis Hall Jr. "Donnie" of Prague, Czech Republic, Brother Harold Hall of Ashburn, Sister Virginia Hall Bowen of Cordele, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest Hall and Ruby Lewis Hall, brother E.W. Hall Jr. and Herbert Hall, and sister Marie Hall Stewart. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 10:00-11:00 AM at Midway Baptist Church.
