Services for Donnie Gene Warren of Meigs, GA are at 2:00PM on Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at Meigs Methodist Church where he was a member. The Rev. Chris Shoemaker and the Rev. Ernest Bass will officiate and interment will be in Meigs City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mark Nelms, Clay Nelms, Kevin McCovey, Steve Perkins, Kenneth Allegood and Carol Nelms. Mr. Warren died April 18, 2004 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born January 9, 1939 in Moultrie, GA he was the son of the late James E. Warren, Sr. and Zena Mae Allegood Cox. On July 15, 1960 in Meigs he married Frances Sasser Warren who survives. He was a clerk for the United States Postal Service for 30 years. Other survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie Warren Hays and Sam of Snow Camp, NC, Donna Warren Singleton and Danny of Camilla, GA; grandchildren, Michael Scott Hays, Heather Michele Hays, Robert Kyle Singleton and Taylor Michele Singleton; half-brother, James E. Warren, Jr. of Columbus, GA, half-sister, Gloria Ann Trawick of Plano, TX; stepmother, Elezer K. Warren of Plano, TX. His stepfather, Turner L. Cox, preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to the Meigs Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1201, Albany, GA 31702. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8PM on Monday.
