Services for Donnie Lewis, 75, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Eastside Baptist Church, where he was a member. Mr. Lewis passed away June 21 peacefully from the arms of his loving family to the loving arms of his Lord. The Rev. Tim Robson and Rev. Mike Cogland will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Marion Mobley, Mike Gammons, Tony Lewis, Jason Lewis, Don Phinazee, Jarrett Williams and Brad Lewis. Born Nov. 27, 1934, in Thomas County, he was the son of the late Purvis and Birdie Mae Singletary Lewis. On Nov. 6, 1982, in Cairo, he married Barbara Ann Harrison Lewis, who survives. He owned and operated Lewis produce for over 45 years where he dedicated himself to offering quality goods and friendly service to the Thomasville community. He will especially be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather and will hold a special place in his family's hearts forever. Other survivors include children, Sanna L. Clark of Thomasville, Melanie Ferrell David of Valdosta, Mike Cogland Jan of Cumming and Maranda Jaggers Mark of Peachtree City; grandchildren, Dawn Allen, Leann Cox, Don Phinazee, Jarrett Williams, Nicole Godbehere, Andrew Tuggle, Hannah Ferrell, Matthew Ferrell, Cooper Cogland, Carly Cogland, Claire Cogland, Carson Cogland, Brennan Jaggers and Harrison Jaggers; 6 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Lavone and Mary Ella Lewis of Thomasville; special care-giver and friend, Lisa King; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by daughters, Linda Lewis Jambone and Donna Lewis Tuggle. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
