Doris Bruner Mclendon

Graveside service for Doris Bruner McLendon will be held at 10am on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Garden with Jimmy Clanton officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Monday at Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Doris Bruner McLendon, age 92, passed away September 18, 2021. She was born October 18, 1928. She was the daughter of the late William Ed, Munson Braswell, and Ethel Ruthland Bruner, and the granddaughter of the late Edgar and Annie Beard Bruner and the late Laura Lona Singletary Braswell. She was a Thomasville High School graduate and went on to graduate from Joyes Business School. Doris was a bookkeeper for Presbyterian Nursing Home and a member of Summerhill Baptist Church. She married Thomas Edward McLendon on November 20, 1946. Thomas preceded her in death September 5, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her sister Bettina Bruner Hancock, son Michael Edward “Mickey” McLendon and grandson David Blake McLendon.
She is survived by son Thomas David (Mary-Ann) McLendon of Thomasville, daughters Judith Ann (Gary) Dollar of Ochlocknee, and Laura Jane Dollar of Thomasville; grandchildren Michelle (Joe) Dees, Thomas Chris (Talore) McLendon, Kelly (David) Lockman, Charles Robert Dollar Jr, and Kate McLendon widow of Blake McLendon; great-grandchildren Aerial Brittany Connell, Harper Thomas McLendon, Allie Lockman, Jake Lockman; great-great-grandchild Hadley Wilson; and sister Dianne Bruner Clements of Jonesboro, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center, the YMCA or Hospice of Southwest Georgia.
