Services for Dorothy Avant Barrow of Coolidge are at 10:00AM on Friday, May 26, 2006 at Coolidge Baptist Church where she was a member. The Rev. Charles Neely, the Rev. James Pelham and the Rev. Harold Pullen will officiate and interment is in Big Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Barrow died May 24, 2006 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born October 16, 1918 in Sandersville, GA she was the daughter of the late C. B. and Effie Tanner Avant. She was married to Edward Thomas Barrow who preceded her in death on November 20, 1986. She taught at Thomas County and Colquitt County Schools, retiring after 30 years. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Rev. Charles Neely of Coolidge, Iris and Murray Warren of Huntsville, AL, son and daughter-in-law, Edward Thomas, Jr. and Ann Barrow of Coolidge; sisters, Faye Samples of Atlanta, GA, Frances Holmes of Sandersville, GA, Marguerite Roberts of Dublin, GA, brother, Lee Hudson Avant of Sandersville, GA, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Sisters, Virginia Meeks, June Vigilone and brothers, James Avant, Paul Avant and C. B. Avant, preceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
