Graveside services for Dorothy Jordan Godwin, 76, of Pavo are 2:00 PM Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Gene Vinson will officiate. Mrs. Godwin died August 7, 2008 at Archbold Hospital. Born November 21, 1931 in Colquitt Co, she was the daughter of the late Hamp Jordan & Callie Welch Jordan. On May 6, 1950 she married Billy Frank Godwin, who survives, who remained a devoted husband for 58 years and the last few years a devoted care giver. She was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith. Other survivor include son & daughter-in-law, Phillip & Tama Godwin of Moultrie, daughter & son-in-law, Phyllis J. & Jim Hiers of Pavo, daughter & son-in-law, Helen M. Murray and Ferrell Hiers of Pavo, brother, David Jordan of Cairo, sister, Katherine Thomaston of Ozark, Al, grandchildren, Bo & Ashley Cone, Paula & Donald Vinson, Jennifer Williams, Jonathan Godwin, Stacy Murray, Cory Hall, Kendra Key, Joni Parker, Katie Hiers, Amy Hiers, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, baby boy Godwin and sister, Francis Brock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Always and Forever Memorial Honor Program, PO Box 2680, North Canton, OH, 44720.
