Services for Dorothy Pearl Simpson, 86, of Thomasville are at 2:00 PM, Monday February 6, 2012 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Mike Allen and Rev. Jimmy Dean will officiate and interment will be at Providence Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Simpson died February 3, 2012 at her residence. Born September 28, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Roland Madison and Mary L. Katherine Medders Towns. She was married to Joseph Benjamin J.B. Simpson who preceded her in death on November 20, 1996. Mrs. Simpson was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was a seamstress. Survivors include son, Thomas Steve Akins of Donalsonville, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Mary V. Akins Owens and John of Highland Home, Alabama, sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Lee Akins and Mary of Edgewood, New Mexico, James Simpson and Brenda of Thomasville, daughter Katherine Ann Creamer of Waycross, GA, son, Donald Ray Simpson of Valdosta, GA, daughter Brenda Brown of Thomasville, GA, brother and sister-in-law, Eugene Towns and Annette of Eastman, GA, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
