Graveside services for Dorothy Wade Carter, 77, of Thomasville, are 2 pm, Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Dr. Dan Spencer will officiate. Mrs. Carter died May 28, 2007 at The Presbyterian Home in Quitman. Born February 26, 1930, in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late John Arthur & Nora Albritton Wade. She married Glenn Carter who precedes her in death in 1975. She helped her late husband at the Tax Recievers Office and later retired from the Thomas County School System. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomasville, a member of Pilot Club, the Jr Womans Club and the Womens Club. Survivors include son Charles Glenn Carter, son & daughter-in-law, John Dennis & Brenda Carter, all of Thomasville, sisters, Sadie Wade Shuman, Cleo Wade Hagan, Lysbeth Wade Brown, all of Jacksonville, Fl, Merle Wade Matthews, Doris Wade Gandy, both of Atmore, Ala, Anne Wade Edwards, of Cairo, grandchildren, Charles Glenn Carter, III, Donald Lee Carter, Courtney Ruth Carter, great grandchildren, Hunter, Brandon, Kipp, Larran Carter. In 1996, she was preceded in death by a son Philip Carter. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, 1925 Century Blvd, Suit 10, Atlanta, Ga 30345.
