Services for Douglas Doug Henry Clifton, 55 of Thomasville are 2 pm, September 10, 2011 at Celebration Church. The Rev. Randy Fields and Rev. Jimmy Bryson will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Ron Dixon, Ricky Carroll, Kenny Thornton, Dwayne Fallin, Donnie Baggett and Charlie Brown; honorary pallbearers are David Hower, Mark Thornton, Wayne Horton, Randy King, Denny Tyre and Tommy Smoak. Mr. Clifton passed away September 3 at his residence. Born December 2, 1955 in Jacksonville, Fl, he was the son of the late William Henry Clifton and Edith Tyre Clifton who survives. He was married to Martha Marty Durham Clifton who survives. Mr. Clifton was a member of Crossroads Fellowship Church, where he sang on the praise team, he was an Archbold Auxiliary Volunteer and volunteered at Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center and was an avid fisherman. He was owner operator for seventeen years for Landstar Systems and he received the Million Mile Safe Driver award from Landstar Systems that recognized drivers for driving a million miles with no accidents or claims. Other survivors include daughter Roxanne Rader and husband David of Jacksonville; son, Murphy Cook of Ft. Pierce, Fl; grandchildren, Murphy Cook, III, Courtney Miller, Tommy Smoak, Joel Radar and Rachael Radar; brothers, Steve Clifton of Callahan, Fl, Josh Clifton of Jacksonville, Fl and sister, Rhonda Willard of Orange Park, Fl, brother-in-law Sean Svehla of Callahan, Fl. Lifelong friends Ricky Carroll, and Dyanne Thomas. He was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Svehla. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Friday, September 9, 2011 at the funeral home.
