Services for Douglas Scott of Pavo, GA., are at 2:00PM on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at Pavo Baptist Church where he was a member. Rev. Larry Harris will officiate and interment will be at Salem Cemetery. Mr. Scott died November 11, 2003 at Pineview Healthcare in Pineview, GA. Born March 9, 1919 in Brooks Co., GA., he was the son of the late James Henry Scott and Beulah Alderman Scott. On May 29, 1942 in Morven, GA., he married Kathleen Duncan Scott who preceded him in death. Mr. Scott served as a deacon at Pavo Baptist Church most of his adult life. He served in the United States Army during World War II where he was awarded the Purple Heart. Survivors include a son, Doug Scott of Columbus, GA, daughter, Faye Dixon of Hawkinsville, GA.; brother, Raiford Scott of Norfolk, VA., sisters Annie Ruth Hobbs of Quitman and Jewel Barnes of Morven; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Pavo Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Pavo Baptist Church on Thursday from 1:00PM until service time.
