Graveside services for Doyle Eugene West, Sr. of Meigs are at 2:00PM on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at Meigs Sunset Cemetery. The Rev. Lynn Roberts will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are Jim West, Robbie West, Kevin West, Jeffrey West, Stacy West and Chris Sharp. Mr. West died Jan. 19 at his residence. Born May 18, 1945 in Colquitt Co., GA he was the son L. D. Lonnie and Merle Vinson West who survives in Meigs. On December 22, 1964 in Boston, GA he married Carol Strickland West who survives. Mr. West was a member of Meigs Baptist Church. Other survivors include daughter, Karen Willis, daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Wade Slaughter, Deanna and Gene Singletary all of Pelham, GA, son, Doyle Eugene West, Jr. of Meigs; grandchildren, Sarah and Chris Sharp, David Willis, Maggie Willis, Caitlin Slaughter, Jadon Slaughter, Kaylee Singletary, Early Singletary, Brooke West; sisters, Joyce Joiner of Pelham, June Hoffman of Meigs and brother, Jimmy West of Pelham. A brother, David West, preceded him in death. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6-8PM. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
